Medial Epicondylitis can be also known as golfer’s elbow and it is related to that of the tennis elbow and measured as the swelling and disturbing injury. When the muscles of the forearm and arm are used very often then the muscles will get some meager tears, the muscles that are use very often to pull down something are resting towards the palm area of forearm. These muscles are got attached to the common flexor muscles, which binds the medial epicondyle and this common flexor gets inflammation and cause pain when these wrist flexors are used again and again.

If there is pain in the elbow after the long use of these elbows then you could understand that it is the symptom of medical epicondylitis, as this pain causes when you are playing golf this came to be known as ‘golfer’s elbow’.

The main cause of this medial epicondylitis is due to the over usage of the wrist and the wrist extenders will create increasing pressure, which leads to a minute tear of the muscles and as a result there will be a swelling and pain, moreover due to the repair of the tendon some scar tissues will be formed, and some physicians have belief that due to the low blood flow towards the ageing muscles it becomes weak and cause injury.

The main symptom of medial epicondyle is there will be pain in the elbow; the pain will increase when the wrist is extended and it will be transformed down to the forearm. If some activity is done which involves the flexor muscles to bend then the pain will be raised.
Deleting the activities will hold the pain and it is the first step to treat the medial epicondylitis, you could keep ice on the elbow for some ten to fifteen minutes and it will help to lessen the inflammation and arrest the swelling and reduce the pain, and the patient could wrap the forearm towards the elbow so that the injured muscles could be protected. For some cases wrist splint could be used for the similar idea, in short R.I.C.E. method could be of very helpful for treating epicondylitis.

The physical therapist is using ultrasound or some other modern methods to take care of the damages of the wound, more than that they will give you some exercises which will help to strengthen the muscles and also makes it flexible, so that you could go back to your activity quickly.

Medicine connected to anti-inflammation will help you to diminish pain and inflammation, where as in the unceasing or powerful cases a cortisone injection will give relief to the distress.

As there is lot of chances to have this problem repeatedly you must not go back to your work suddenly and you must continue your exercises regularly.
